Major Moscow's Strikes Cut Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while inhabitants in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with interruptions to water systems, per reports from local authorities.

Meanwhile, a young boy was lost their life in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Moscow has intensified strikes on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, Europe and the Group of Seven - in providing defensive weapons and applying sanctions," he wrote in a public message.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 missiles attacked the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A series of attacks struck power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the urban area experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and three other people were hurt.

The attacks come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the area, portions of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The whole nation is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to identify.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and officials were bracing for further attacks.
